Apollo Impact Acquires Smart Start

Paul, Weiss advised funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc. in their acquisition of Global IID Holdco, LLC and its subsidiaries, including 1A Smart Start, LLC. Smart Start is the leading global provider of alcohol monitoring programs utilizing ignition interlock devices to prevent vehicles from starting if the driver’s alcohol concentration reaches a predetermined level. Since its inception in 1992, the company has prevented over 10 million engine starts where alcohol was detected. The transaction represents Apollo’s second acquisition by its Impact platform. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
