Abigail Frisch Vice is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the Supreme Court & Appellate Litigation Practice Group. She represents clients in complex civil and criminal matters in federal and state courts nationwide, with experience spanning numerous merits-stage and certiorari-stage cases before the Supreme Court. Her work has involved a wide range of subject matters, including administrative, antitrust, bankruptcy, constitutional, immigration, tax and securities law.
Abby has argued before two federal courts of appeals and is a trusted resource for high-stakes appellate advocacy. Drawing on both government and private-sector experience, she offers clients strategic, practical counsel at every stage of litigation.
Before joining Paul, Weiss, Abby served as a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice and as a Coleman Fellow in the Solicitor General Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. She also clerked for Judge William Q. Hayes of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and Judge Don R. Willett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Earlier in her career, Abby worked as a certified public accountant at a national accounting firm, where she focused on audits of financial statements and internal controls—experience that informs her sophisticated approach to matters involving complex financial and regulatory issues.
Abby’s recent matters include representing Warner Chappell Music, Inc. in a Supreme Court case addressing the statute of limitations for copyright claims; Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs in securities litigation arising from the collapse of the Archegos Capital Management investment fund; and Carnival Corporation in litigation under the Helms-Burton Act.
