Partners Meredith Dearborn and Tee St. Matthew-Daniel, associate Russell Wirth and practice management attorney Mark Laramie co-wrote an article for the Daily Journal on the potential consequences of a new antitrust policy shift in California under which the state will begin bringing criminal antitrust prosecutions under the Cartwright Act. In the article, “California Poised to Raise the Stakes for Antitrust Offenses,” published on March 14, the authors discuss how this shift, coupled with a proposed legislative expansion of state antitrust law, could increase the significance of state antitrust actions and change the dynamics of criminal antitrust enforcement for California defendants, including by increasing potential monetary exposure for antitrust violations.
