2L Pauli Murray Fellowship
Paul, Weiss has been committed to inclusion since our founding — a dedication that has shaped the intellectual and cultural character of our firm over many decades. In celebration of the varied perspectives and backgrounds that enrich our profession and help us solve problems more effectively, we proudly offer the Pauli Murray Fellowship.

Program Description
Paul, Weiss is committed to expanding opportunities within the profession through the Pauli Murray Fellowship. Open to all, our 2L Fellowship honors former Paul, Weiss associate Pauli Murray (1956). Murray, a legal scholar and poet, established an inclusive legacy we are proud to honor by continuing to invest in the development and promotion of talented law students.
The 2L Pauli Murray Fellowship will be awarded each year to law students pursuing a 2L summer associate position in our New York; Los Angeles; San Francisco; Washington, D.C.; or Wilmington offices. In addition to experiencing our summer program’s substantive assignments, robust training, multifaceted mentorship, client engagement and social events, fellowship recipients will be awarded $50,000, to be paid in installments as follows:
- $25,000 upon acceptance of 2L summer associate offer with Paul, Weiss
- $25,000 upon acceptance of full-time associate offer with Paul, Weiss
Eligibility
All applicants must be enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school. Pauli Murray Fellows may not participate in a similar fellowship program with another law firm and will not be able to split their 2L summer with another law firm.
