Roberto Gonzalez and Sam Kleiner to Lead Panels at IIB Financial Crimes Conference

Economic Sanctions & AML Co-Chair Roberto Gonzalez and litigation counsel Sam Kleiner will participate in the Institute of International Bankers’ 2025 Financial Crimes Conference. Roberto will lead a fireside chat with Matthew Reed, acting general counsel of the FDIC. He will also moderate a panel, “Regulator Perspectives and Expectations for AML Programs,” featuring officials from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Federal Reserve Bank of New York, which will explore supervisory expectations, enforcement trends and emerging financial crime risks.

Sam will moderate a panel, “What’s New Under the New Administration – Sanctions Update,” with panelists including a senior official from the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control and the head of sanctions at a global financial institution. The panel will examine developments in U.S. sanctions policy, and the implications for internationally headquartered financial institutions.

The conference will take place in New York on September 9. Roberto’s panels will take place at 9:15 a.m. ET and 9:45 a.m. ET, respectively, and Sam’s panel will take place at 2:30 p.m. ET.
