WestRock and Smurfit Kappa Combine in $20 Billion Deal

Paul, Weiss advised U.S.-based corrugated packaging company WestRock in its $20 billion combination with Europe's leading corrugated packaging company Smurfit Kappa to create Smurfit WestRock. Under the terms of the deal, Smurfit WestRock has been listed on the NYSE under the new ticker symbol “SW” and the LSE under the ticker “SWR.” The combined Smurfit WestRock has a unique geographic footprint and, through WestRock’s industry-leading applications, an unparalleled ability to provide value for customers.
