D1 Capital to Acquire Collectors Universe in $700 Million Group Investment

Paul, Weiss is advising D1 Capital Partners L.P. in its group acquisition of Collectors Universe, Inc., a leading provider of value-added authentication and grading services to dealers and collectors of collectibles. Under the terms of the transaction, an investor group led by entrepreneur and sports card collector Nat Turner, D1 Capital and Cohen Private Ventures, LLC will acquire all of the company’s outstanding shares of common stock for $75.25 per share in cash, representing a transaction value of approximately $700 million. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021.
