Paul, Weiss Shortlisted for Five Global Competition Review Awards

Global Competition Review shortlisted Paul, Weiss in five categories in its annual GCR Awards, which recognize the cases, law firms, lawyers and economists who excelled in the competition and antitrust space over the past year. The firm is shortlisted for “Merger Control Matter of the Year (Americas)” and “Matter of the Year” for its representation of Metsera in its acquisition by Pfizer, which was led by partners Ben Goodchild, Andrew Krause and Scott Barshay on the M&A side and Scott Sher and Nicole Kar on the antitrust side; “Litigation of the year: Non-cartel defence” for its representation of Intuitive Surgical in its trial victory defeating Surgical Instrument Service’s monopolization claim, which was led by litigation partner Bill Michael and of counsel Ken Gallo; and “Litigation of the Year: Cartel Defense” for its representation of Deutsche Bank in the dismissal of multidistrict litigation over the U.S. dollar London Interbank Offer Rate (LIBOR), which was led by litigation partner Aidan Synnott. Additionally, antitrust partner Scott Sher is shortlisted for “Dealmaker of the year.”

Voting for all categories is open until February 9. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Washington on March 24.
