Kannon Shanmugam was named to The National Law Journal’s “Appellate Hot List” in its 2019 special report. The report recognized appellate luminaries who won key matters before the U.S. Supreme Court and federal courts of appeals. As part of the 2019 report, Kannon Shanmugam took part in a Q&A where he discussed his top court victory over the past year, how the firm as a whole approached appellate success, and the most satisfying element of appellate practice. Speaking on his most valuable lesson learned as a young lawyer, Kannon states, “The details matter. When you’re the associate on a case, you’re responsible for making sure that every last detail in every brief is correct. And even as you become more senior, that remains important.”
