A partner in the Project Finance & Development, Finance and Infrastructure Groups, Jamie Franklin represents clients across the North America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions on some of the most complex transactions in the energy sector, particularly in relation to liquefied natural gas (LNG), gas, natural resources, power and large-scale renewables/clean energy projects. Jamie has extensive experience in multi-source project financings, acquisition financings, holdco and hybrid financing structures, project bonds/private placements, structured financing platforms, refinancings and other debt-structured products and equity financings in the energy and infrastructure sector. He also advises on joint ventures and project development matters (including power purchase, feedstock and offtake agreements).

Jamie has worked on multiple award-winning, first-of-their-kind transactions, including the financing of INPEX Corporation’s  Ichthys LNG export facility in Australia and Sempra Infrastructure Partners’  Cameron LNG export facility in Louisiana, and other representative matters including*:

  • The co-investors in a Blackstone Credit & Insurance-led investor consortium on a $7 billion investment in Sempra Infrastructure Partners’ Port Arthur LNG Phase 2
  • A Middle East sovereign wealth fund on its investment, joint venture arrangements and equity commitments for the $18.4 billion financing of the Rio Grande LNG project in Texas
  • Cheniere Energy in the $3.4 billion refinancing of its Sabine Pass LNG project in Louisiana
  • Excelerate Energy on its entry into a 20-year liquefied natural gas (LNG)agreement with Venture Global LNG to purchase 0.7 Mtpa of LNG on a free on board (FOB) basis from the Plaquemines LNG facility in Louisiana
