Former chair of the firm and its Management Committee, Alfred D. Youngwood is of counsel to the firm. Mr. Youngwood's practice concentrated on acquisitions, reorganizations and financings involving both American and foreign business organizations through the use of corporate and partnership structures. His significant tax representations included the representation of Time Warner Inc. in the creation of major joint ventures in media and cable television and its acquisition of Adelphia, Triarc in its disposition of Snapple and Viacom in the split-off of CBS.

Mr. Youngwood has served as chair of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Tax Section. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel. Mr. Youngwood has had several articles published in The Tax Lawyer focusing on partnership issues.

Mr. Youngwood was an editor of the Harvard Law Review and a Fulbright Scholar in international taxation at the London School of Economics.
