Litigation partner Chris Boehning and deputy chair and counsel, e-discovery, Ross Gotler served as contributing editors for the newest publication from the Sedona Conference, “Principles for International Arbitration.” The publication provides guidance on the use and protection of data in international arbitration, including respecting the data protection and privacy rights of relevant data subjects while recognizing the due process rights of the arbitral participants; and ensuring reasonable and good-faith compliance with data protection laws while also respecting the quasi-judicial role of international arbitration.
The Sedona Conference is a nonprofit research and educational institute dedicated to the advanced study of law and policy in the areas of antitrust law, complex litigation, intellectual property rights, and data security and privacy law. “Principles for International Arbitration” is a project of Sedona's Working Group 6, which focuses on international electronic information management, discovery and disclosure.
