Firm Chairman Brad Karp spoke with the ABA Journal to discuss the contribution of lawyers in the evolving sports landscape. In “Lawyers represent sports organizations in many roles as the industry evolves,” published on September 30, Brad reflects on why lawyers are increasingly engaged in all aspects of the sports industry. “The issues have become far more complex, the stakes have become far more significant, and the players and participants have become far more global and institutional,” Brad says. “We’re now seeing corporate interests and private equity, as well as the courts, play an increasingly visible role in reshaping the sports landscape.”
