Roberto Finzi Discusses Best Practices for Opening Statements at PLI’s Trial by Jury

Litigation partner Roberto Finzi participated in a panel, “First Impressions: Why Your Opening Statement Is So Important,” as part of Practising Law Institute’s Trial by Jury 2023 program on October 18. The panel explored various techniques to deliver effective opening statements, including ways to grab and keep the jury’s attention; how to develop a theme and tell a story; how to handle damaging evidence; and how to avoid common mistakes, among other topics.
