Paul, Weiss hosted a discussion on the ongoing reform of French arbitration law in the firm’s New York office on November 10. The event featured a fireside chat between litigation partner Daniel Reich and Carine Dupeyron, a partner at leading French law firm Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier and a member of the French Ministry of Justice’s Working Group on the Reform of French Arbitration Law. They discussed key features of French arbitration law, the objectives behind the reform and the Working Group’s role in shaping these changes. The conversation also highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of selecting Paris as a seat of international arbitration.
Attendees joined a broader dialogue on how these reforms aim to reinforce France’s position as a leading global hub for international arbitration and recent efforts in France to attract foreign investment through an efficient and predictable legal framework. The event included participation from Business France, and was organized by Paul, Weiss’s International Arbitration Practice, including litigation partners Chris Boehning and Geoffrey Chepiga and associate Cesar Riviere.
