Litigation partner Mark Mendelsohn will participate in a panel, “Tariffs, Trade, and a New Frontier of Corruption Risks: Confronting Growing Compliance Pressures Stemming from a Seismic Global Trade Shift,” at the American Conference Institute’s annual conference on FCPA and Global Anti-Corruption. The panel will examine the intersection of global tariff policies and corruption risk in emerging trade corridors, including how shifting operations to more tariff-friendly jurisdictions presents new regional corruption patterns and risks for companies, the new risks arising from the realignment of supply chains and the growing risk of bribes paid to evade or reduce tariffs. Speakers will also explore practical strategies to detect and mitigate bribery risks in global supply chains and customs processes, and due diligence and monitoring approaches for new trade corridors and high-risk jurisdictions.
The conference, co-sponsored by Paul, Weiss, will take place in Washington, December 3 to 4; Mark’s panel will take place on December 3 at 11:00 am ET.
