Financial Services Group Co-Chair Jarryd Anderson will speak before the House Committee on Financial Services on November 18 at a hearing on “The Future of Deposit Insurance: Exploring the Coverage, Costs, and Depositor Confidence.” The hearing aims to examine the deposit insurance framework in the United States, evaluate potential reforms and explore key questions for policymakers.
The hearing will analyze the structure, function, and effectiveness of current frameworks in safeguarding depositors and promoting financial stability. It also will highlight the roles and responsibilities of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the scope and limits of insurance coverage, and the funding mechanisms that support the deposit insurance fund.
