Paul, Weiss is advising Wellington Management, a leading independent investment manager, in its acquisition of Hartford Funds, a leading provider of investment solutions for the wealth management market, from The Hartford. Under the terms of the deal, valued at an estimated $1.9 billion, The Hartford will receive $300 million in cash at closing and additional payments based on the available after-tax cash generated by the combined company over seven years. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory and fund approvals.
