Paul, Weiss is advising Apollo on the launch of Apollo Sports Capital (ASC), a new investment business providing capital solutions across the global sports and live events ecosystem. The permanent capital holding company is designed to be a stable, long-term partner to the sector, providing strategic value. ASC will invest predominantly in credit and hybrid opportunities in the sports landscape, spanning franchises, leagues, venues, media, events and more. Seasoned sports investor Al Tylis will be CEO of ASC, and Apollo partners Rob Givone and Lee Solomon have been named co-portfolio managers of the platform.
ASC will build on Apollo’s established presence in the sports industry, with funds that have deployed approximately $17 billion to date in the broader space, including investments in sports and entertainment companies, media rights, and stadium and league financings.
