Litigation partners Ted Wells and Dan Toal were named “Litigators of the Week” by The American Lawyer. Ted and Dan led the Paul, Weiss team that prevailed on behalf of Exxon Mobil Corporation in a landmark $1.6 billion climate-change lawsuit brought by the N.Y. Attorney General’s office in what is believed to be the first such case to be tried to verdict. “There’s no playbook or conventional wisdom out there for how to defend a case like this,” Dan noted in a Q&A with The American Lawyer. “We were really writing on a blank slate.”
