Paul, Weiss Recognized by The American Lawyer for IBM Litigation Win

Litigation partners Bob Atkins, Jane O’Brien, Richard Tarlowe and Jeannie Rhee were recognized by The American Lawyer’s “Litigation Daily” column on April 15 for their victory on behalf of IBM in the New York Supreme Court’s Appellate Division, First Department.

On April 7, Bob, who argued the appeal, Jane, Richard and Jeannie secured the unanimous reversal of the dismissal of a $2.5 billion fraud claim brought by IBM against semiconductor supplier GlobalFoundries. The decision reinstates IBM’s claim that GlobalFoundries fraudulently induced IBM to transfer its $1 billion semiconductor business and contribute $1.5 billion as part of the parties’ long-term technology alliance to develop and manufacture the next generations of high performance computer chips.

The Paul, Weiss team also included litigation associates Matteo Godi, Annelise Corriveau, Pietro Signoracci, Ameya Ananth, Oleg Shik, Ethan Stern, Courtney Wiesner and Andrew Trinker.
