Firm Chairman Brad Karp received the 2022 Burton Law Firm Leadership Award at a gala at the Library of Congress on June 13. The award, selected annually by a panel of leading law school professors and members of the private bar, is presented to a professional who has helped their firm to succeed in reputation and business, protected their firm against formidable obstacles, and who is highly ethical and universally respected.
In accepting the award before an audience including members of the Supreme Court and dozens of law firm leaders and general counsel, Brad highlighted the private bar’s collective responsibility to solve our society’s most urgent problems and safeguard the rule of law. “I am particularly proud to lead a law firm that, in addition to representing corporate clients in their most complex and significant commercial matters, is willing to do just that — to fight tooth and nail to protect individual liberties and fundamental freedoms, whenever threatened,” he says. “I know that we will triumph in the end, because we must — and that our nation, once again, will be seen across the globe as a beacon for justice.”
