Rob Kindler Appears on CNBC to Talk About M&A and IPOs

Global M&A Chair Rob Kindler appeared on the September 28 episode of “Squawk Box” on CNBC. Rob discussed the latest trends in business acquisitions, and what to expect for IPOs the rest of the year, among other topics. While noting that there have been over 40 $10 billion M&A deals this year, he calls overall M&A volume moderate. The environment at the beginning of the year, he notes, was boosted by some major fourth-quarter 2025 deals that were delayed to 2026 by the government shutdown. 

On the IPO front, he notes that the total number of IPOs has been down in 2026 year to date, in part because companies no longer need to rely on going public to raise significant new capital. Though the current market has headlined a handful of very large anticipated IPOs, Rob says he expects to see a greater volume of IPOs in the coming months.
