Corporate partner Jim Langston appeared on the June 5 segment of Bloomberg TV’s “Bloomberg Markets” to discuss an expected uptick in M&A this year amid increasing confidence among market players, and the potential for the private equity market to be unlocked with greater certainty around interest rates. Despite the “noise” of a heightened antitrust environment and the political implications of an election year, dealmaking continues to trend upward, he says.
“Confidence is returning to board rooms, to C-suites — companies are willing to make big, bold bets on M&A,” Jim says. “I think we’re about to turn a corner and get into the early stage of a private M&A super-cycle.”
