Jonathan Ashtor Publishes Patent Analytics Study in Top-Ranked Academic Journal

Intellectual property partner Jonathan Ashtor has published a patent analytics study in the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies (JELS), a leading law and economics journal. The study uses machine learning to measure the similarity of any patent to its cohort, developing a useful measure for portfolio analytics and data mining. The Journal of Empirical Legal Studies is ranked first among peer-reviewed law and economics journals, and studies published in JELS have been covered in leading news outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Forbes, the Financial Times, and USA Today.
