Global Private Credit Group Co-Chair Joe Glatt spoke with LevFin Insights about the increasingly symbiotic relationship between private credit and the sports industry. In “US Insight: Private credit investors suit up for plethora of sports investments,” published on October 9, Joe notes that private credit “is a natural fit” for the sports world because it “gravitates to contracted cash flow,” which the sports industry has in abundance. “Each vertical offers a blend of stable recurring revenue assets and can be structured into long-term credit and hybrid instruments,” he says.
Joe adds that as interest in global sports continues to increase, the investor base will grow alongside new and expanding opportunities. “Sports used to be a passion project for wealthy individuals,” he says. “The investable universe has broadened. It’s no longer just an equity ownership in a team.”
