Corporate partner Laura Turano participated in two panels, “Negotiating the M&A deal: A mock negotiation of a corporate acquisition” and “Women in M&A,” hosted by Columbia Law School on October 23. The interactive mock negotiation panel demonstrated common scenarios in M&A dealmaking. During the panel Laura said, “It’s important to remember that a client hires us because they want to do the deal. Our job as negotiators is to solve problems and focus on what the client cares about.” The panel offered explanations of negotiating positions and strategies. The “Women in M&A” panel was presented by the Women in M&A subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s M&A Committee.
