Restructuring partners Jake Adlerstein, Paul Basta and Ken Ziman, and corporate partner Julie Ann Lamm will participate in panels at the 2025 Distressed Investing Conference.
Jake’s panel, “Cross Border is Wide Open,” will discuss the complexities and innovations in cross-border restructurings, focusing on topics including recent international cases, emerging legal frameworks and the challenges posed by competing insolvency regimes. Paul’s panel, “The Demise of the U.S. Bankruptcy Lawyer?” will explore the continued utility and necessity of chapter 11 and restructuring, featuring an overview of the practice’s last 30 years of evolution, and discussion of recent trends. Ken’s panel, “The New Mass Torts — From Here to Eternity,” will highlight how chapter 11 is being tested as a tool to address complex mass tort liabilities in the post-Purdue era, and how recent challenges may affect future restructurings. Julie Ann’s panel, “Corporate Governance in an AI World,” will examine evolving corporate governance and fiduciary challenges as distressed firms increasingly adopt artificial intelligence.
All four panels will take place on December 3 in New York. Julie Ann’s will start at 10:40 a.m. ET, Ken’s at 11:30 a.m., Paul’s at 2:30 p.m. and Jake’s at 4:30 p.m.
