Paul, Weiss advised Rocket Companies, a Detroit-based fintech platform that includes mortgage, real estate, title and personal finance businesses, in its acquisition of Mr. Cooper Group Inc. in a transaction valued at $14.2 billion. This acquisition brings together the country’s largest home loan originator and the largest mortgage servicer, which together will have a combined servicing portfolio of nearly 10 million homeowners. As part of the deal, Mr. Cooper and all of its servicing functions will be rebranded under the Rocket umbrella.
