Empire Company to Acquire Farm Boy From Berkshire Partners

Paul, Weiss is representing Empire Company in its acquisition of Farm Boy from an affiliate of Berkshire Partners for a total enterprise value of $800 million. Empire owns and operates more than 1,500 grocery retail stores in Canada, with approximately $24.4 billion in annualized sales and 120,000 employees. Farm Boy is the fastest-growing food retailer in Canada, with 26 locations in Ontario.
