Paul, Weiss is advising AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a global specialty property casualty insurer, in its strategic partnership with Blackstone Credit & Insurance, under which AmTrust will spin-off certain of its managing general agencies and fee businesses in the U.S., United Kingdom, and continental Europe to form a new, independent company.
The agreement includes seven AmTrust subsidiaries: ANV, Risico, Collegiate, AmTrust Nordic, Arc Legal, Qualis and Abacus. AmTrust and the newly formed company will enter into a 10-year capacity agreement through which AmTrust will remain underwriter of the agencies’ existing books of business. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
