Paul, Weiss represented American Tower Corporation in its acquisition of Eaton Towers Holdings Limited for $1.85 billion, including debt. The deal, which closed on January 2, adds approximately 5,700 communications sites to American Tower’s African portfolio, including in Burkina Faso, Kenya, Ghana, Niger and Uganda.
Paul, Weiss is also advising American Tower on its $523 million acquisition of MTN Group Limited’s minority joint venture stakes in Ghana and Uganda. That transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2020, pending regulatory approvals. American Tower, one of the largest global REITs, is a leading independent owner, operator and developer of multitenant communications real estate with a portfolio of approximately 177,000 communications sites.
