In March, M&A activity remained generally slow in the U.S. but showed strong signs of recovery globally. The total value of U.S. deals decreased by 14.3 percent to $116.21 billion, while the total value of global deals increased by 43.2 percent to $336.77 billion. The number of U.S. deals grew by 9.4 percent to 723, while the number of global deals grew by 10.3 percent to 2,605 globally. The average value of announced public mergers in the U.S. declined by 21.6 percent to $160.73 million but increased globally by 29.8 percent to $129.28 million.
