Two Paul, Weiss transactions have been named 2019 “Deals of the Year” by the China Business Law Journal. The firm was recognized for its representation of China-based utilities company State Grid International Development Limited in its $2.23 billion acquisition of Chilquinta Energía S.A. from Sempra Energy. The acquisition also included Sempra Energy’s 100% interest in Tecnored S.A., which provides electric construction and infrastructure services to Chilquinta and third parties, and its 50% interest in Eletrans S.A., which owns, constructs, operates and maintains power transmission. We were also recognized for our representation of Wanda Sports Group in a successful initial public offering and listing on the Nasdaq Global Select Market of American Depositary Shares. Wanda Sports Group is a leading global sports events, media and marketing platform, with brands including Infront Sports & Media and IRONMAN. We represented Wanda Sports Group as issuer’s counsel in connection with its IPO and listing, a restructuring of its operations prior to the offering and a financing transaction.
