Paul, Weiss won Asian Legal Business’s “M&A Deal of the Year – Premium” award presented at ALB’s annual China Law Awards. The award recognizes the firm’s representation of State Grid International Development Limited, a China-based utilities company, in its $3.04 billion acquisition of Compania General de Electricidad, a Chilean utility company.

The Paul, Weiss team in this transaction included corporate partner Judie Ng Shortell, associates Jack Sun and Joshua Thompson, and China associate Cara Li; and antitrust counsel Marta Kelly and associate Chad de Souza.

Additionally, Paul, Weiss was shortlisted in the category of “Private Equity Law Firm of the Year – International,” and in the category of “M&A Deal of the Year – Premium” for our role in 58.com’s $8.7 billion take-private transaction. Corporate partner Judie Ng Shortell was also shortlisted in the category of “Dealmaker of the Year – International.”
